Cookies - What are they for?
We take extensive steps on this web site to hide all personal information of Rotarians from Spammers. Therefore, users must either login as a guest or as a member before any personal identifying information (address, telephone numbers, and email addresses) is revealed. Cookies are our way of storing the login information
Cookies are tiny files placed on your computer AFTER you login as a guest or a member. We keep your user id and password in the cookie file so that, as you travel from web page to web page on this web site, your user information is saved.
If you leave the web site or turn off your computer, the cookie remains on your computer so that the next time you visit the web site, you are still logged in.
If you log off, then the cookie file is deleted from your computer and you will need to log in again when you return to the web site.
If you have logged in on one computer, and then try to login in on a different computer, you will notice that your login information has not been saved on the second computer. This is because cookies are only stored on the specific computer you are using. Cookie information is never stored ANYWHERE but on your own computer. |
