Ambassadorial Scholarships
Rotary Clubs of District 5190:
Applications are now being accepted for the Ambassadorial
Scholarships for the 2012-2013 year.
Qualifications are simple:
* You must have completed 2 years university or college
coursework.
* Applicant cannot be closely related to a Rotarian (example:
your parents, grandparents)
* Members of Rotaract clubs are eligible and encouraged to
apply
The terms are that the Scholar can choose:
* Any country where there is a Rotary Club
* Any university in that country
* Any Major
* Scholarship is for 1 Academic year
* Apply now for the 2012/2013 Academic year
* The scholarship pays tuition, room and board, travel, health
insurance and is limited to a maximum of $26,000
Application Procedures:
1. Applications may be obtained directly from the Foundation or
RI Website at http://www.rotary.org/RIdocuments/en_pdf/139en.pdf
2. Complete the application; realize that this will take some
time upwards of a month.
3. Applicants must initially apply and be endorsed through
Rotary club located in the area of their legal or permanent
residence, or place of full-time study or employment.
4. The local Rotary Club will screen the applicants, select and
forward one to the District Chair for Ambassadorial Scholarships
by July 1, 2011. For our District, you may forward applications
to one of the contacts below:

The Rotary District will interview the Applicants and select the
Scholars to be awarded a Scholarship; these interviews are done
usually in early August
We have had some outstanding applicants over the past few
years; please think about those fine candidates that your club
may know who can take advantage of this wonderful life-changing
opportunity. Our District 5190 has funds available for two
scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year.
