Name Title
Langlotz, Angela Major Donors/Permanent Fund Chair

Major Donors

Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation are those individuals, married couples, non-Rotary affiliated Foundations and Corporations who contribute an outright or cumulative gift of at least $10,000 to the Annual Programs Fund and/or to the Permanent Fund of The Rotary Foundation.

There are many Rotarians within District 5190 who have been exceptionally generous to The Rotary Foundation during their many years of Rotary service. Many of their individual cumulative donations to the Foundation have now surpassed $5,000, or more, but less than the $10,000 level for Major Donor Recognition.

TWould you like to be recognized as a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation during this Rotary year? You can do this if you:
  • Make a pledge to donate $10,000 within the next three years, or
  • Make a pledge to donate $25,000 within the next five years, or
  • Make an initial outright gift to the Rotary Foundation necessary to reach the cumulative total of $10,000 or more
Please contact Major Donor Co-Chair Angela Langlotz for more information.

As an example, we currently have 22 Rotarians within District 5190 who have each contributed $8,000 but less than $10,000 to The Rotary Foundation. It would be a great honor for District Governor Wyn Spiller to make a special presentation this Rotary year to each and every one of these Rotarians who would either gift the remaining balance now or pledge that final $2,000 to reach the cumulative total of $10,000 in the next two or three years and thus receive their recognition as a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation this year!

The Rotary Foundation recognizes couples or individuals whose combined personal outright or cumulative giving has reached $10,000. All outright contributions made to the Foundation are included in this total, regardless of the gift designation.

Level Contribution
Level Six $1 million or greater
Level Five $500,000
Level Four $100,000
Level Three $50,000
Level Two $25,000
Level One $10,000

Major Donors provide substantial support for their choice of The Rotary Foundation's Annual Programs Fund or The Permanent Fund. Each Major Donor may choose to which Fund their gift is directed.

The Annual Programs Fund provides current-year funding for The Rotary Foundation's humanitarian and educational programs such as:
  • Polio Eradication.
  • District Simplified Grants to fund projects in our own region.
  • Matching Grants to support humanitarian projects around the globe.
  • Group Study Exchange (GSE) program.
  • Ambassadorial Scholarships to further international understanding.
  • Rotary World Peace Fellowships.
The Permanent Fund generates interest in perpetuity for humanitarian and educational programs such as:
  • Polio Eradication.
  • District Simplified Grants to fund projects in our own region.
  • Matching Grants to support humanitarian projects around the globe.
  • Group Study Exchange (GSE) program.
  • Ambassadorial Scholarships to further international understanding.
  • Rotary World Peace Fellowships.
As a Major Donor, you will enjoy the benefits of:
  • A Major Donor Crystal recognizing your commitment to The Rotary Foundation. Recognition is normally awarded at a Rotary event of suitable importance, or as you may request.
  • A cloisonné Major Donor diamond-shaped pin with diamonds representing your Major Donor Level, from One Diamond ($10,000) to Six Diamonds ($1,000,000 and up).
  • Fellowship with other Major Donors who share your degree of support for such an important cause, including:
    • An invitation for you and your guests to our annual gala dinner (typically held in April in Reno on the Friday evening before the District Assembly and Leadership Training Program).
    • A private reception hosted by the District Governor at the Annual District Conference.
    • Fellowship at other Rotary events throughout the year. (Bequest Society and Paul Harris Society members are also invited to many of our events).
For more information, questions, or to become a Major Donor, contact the District 5190 Major Donors/Bequest Society Chair, Angela Langlotz. Her contact information is at the top of this web page (login required).
