What
is the Paul Harris Society?
- The District 5190
Paul Harris Society (PHS) is a group of about 80 Rotarians.
Each member has committed to give at least $1,000 annually
to The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Annual Giving and/or
Restricted Giving Programs
Who
is eligible for membership?
- All Rotarians,
families, friends
- Each individual
donor who commits to a minimum $1,000 contribution per year
- Those who give
$10,000 or more (Major Donors) or have willed $10,000 or
more in their estate planning (Bequest Society)
automatically become members of the PHS
Who
benefits from PHS contributions?
- Each contribution
of $1,000 funds a new Paul Harris Fellowship
- Contributions
support TRF humanitarian and educational programs such as:
- Polio
Eradication
- Matching Grants
- District
Simplified Grants
- Group Study
Exchange (GSE)
- Ambassadorial
Scholarships
- Rotary World
Peace Scholarships
What
does PHS membership include?
- A certificate of
recognition
- A Paul Harris
Society flag to attach to your Paul Harris pin
- An invitation to
attend a private reception in your honor at the Annual
District Conference
What
is the timeframe for contributing?
- The $1,000 donation
can take place all at once or incrementally at any point in
a given year so long as the full amount is committed to the
Foundation during the fiscal year July1 to June 30
How
long is the PHS commitment?
- The duration of
commitment and membership is determined by each individual
member
- Membership can be
as short as one year or continue as long as the member
wishes to contribute
- PHS membership is
not a binding contract. It is a statement of intention.
Rotarians are known for their handshakes - that is enough!
